    Boutique Makeover

Because there is never a dull moment here at Natalie Chan HQ, over the course of a week we decided to close up shop, to renovate and update our beloved boutique's decor. With fresh paint on the walls in the most darling shade of dove grey, sleek new racks, an extended consultation area, and a charming doorbell service, we are so excited to greet clients old and new in our elegant new showroom.

Thank you again to Aric Man for capturing these images.

Natalie Chan Presents: Classic Capsule Collection

One autumnal morning we took to the beautiful Lippincott Dining Room, inside Auckland’s most iconic department store Smith and Caugheys to stage our latest bridal photoshoot. Fresh flowers and greenery by Cartier for Flowers adorned the spacious room, with glassware and candles by Creative Style while chairs were provided by design specialists Kartell. The gorgeous bouquets also by Cartier for Flowers were held together with trailing silk ribbons by Feathers and Stone. Nicole and Zoe from Unique Model Management were the faces for the newest range with their hair tended to by Dry and Tea and makeup by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, wedding photographer Kirsty Peta Stone with assistance by Kimberly Elizabeth rounded out the dream team. The fanciful footwear was from Mi Piaci and all dresses and headwear from Natalie Chan.

Behind the Scenes in the Atelier

Our talented photographer friend Aric Man came and spent some time with us in our atelier, to capture a little behind-the-scenes video of the creation of one of our bridal gowns as shown at New Zealand Fashion Week as part of the New Zealand Weddings Magazine showcase.

We love what he produced for us x

Natalie Chan Presents: Blissfully Botanic Lookbook

‘You’ve been for a stroll in the garden picking flowers and daydreaming with your lovers name on your lips’

Having had a long time love affair with flowers, Natalie has drawn inspiration for her latest bridal collection from blooms and botanical gardens. Each design in the collection features a type of fabric flower from petite and scattered to a bold cluster of blooms. Another constant inspiration is exploring fabric manipulation and textures, the culmination of these ideas resulted in Natalie and her team researching into the different types of floral motifs on laces and fabric and also creating their own by artfully painting large flowers onto silk fabric before hand-appliquéing them onto gowns in different forms.

Quality fabrics such as silk dupion and lace can be seen on the gowns as well as fine tulle and silk organza which give a wonderful transparent depth to the designs. Bodices are contoured close to the body while skirts generally tend to be floor length and sweeping. Natalie Chan brides are imagined in ivory but also in pops of beautiful pinks from soft hues, to brighter tones of coral and water lily pink.
