Following age old tradition, guests who attend Derby Day should opt for a monochromatic outfit in black and white. With a limited colour palette comes the opportunity to be quite inventive and creative with your outfit choice, think about incorporating a print (or two!) into your look or play around with mixing and matching textured fabrics. In terms of head-wear Derby Day also provides a great chance to embrace a statement making look, you may opt for something quite dramatic such as our masked crinoline veil, or a large disc hat.

Racegoers attending this mid week race day should adhere to a more conservative dress code, tailored dresses and structured garments are advisable for a demure look. Cup day is also a great day for showcasing bright colours whether solid and colour blocked or in a beautiful vibrant print.

And we come to the finale of the week, the lovely Diamond day. Also known as 'Ladies Day', attendees should embrace the tradition of working a pastel colour palette into their look for the day. Think blush pinks, periwinkle blue, lilac, and mint green and fabric wise you may choose to opt for floral prints or quality laces. Ellerslie also hold their wonderful competition where a group of best dressed ladies are hand picked, who are then aligned with a horse each in the final race of the day, the winning horse then determines the Diamond Darling who takes home a fabulous prize package.
