Cinematic Starlets: The Launch October 16 2015, 0 Comments

Held at the luxurious Sugar Club in Auckland’s Sky Tower, we showcased ‘Cinematic Starlets’ our latest couture millinery collection for the 2015-2016 season. Inspired by femme fatales of film noir, these ladies were dressed to kill (sometimes quite literally!) in low necklines, immaculate makeup, jewels, elbow length gloves and always, always a brilliant hat. So appropriate then, was Auckland’s glamorous art deco inspired eatery to host fashion media, clients and friends over a mid-morning soiree.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with Natalie’s favourite choice of French champagne, Mumm Cordon Rouge. Guests were then treated to canapes by executive chef, Neil Brazier of The Sugar Club by Peter Gordon. Flowers from Cartier for Flowers adorned the room as well as peeking out from goodie bags. The beautiful models from 62 Models were dressed head to toe in Natalie Chan with makeup by Bobbi Brown and hairstyles by Dry and Tea.

Story telling is a always a vital part in exhibiting our head wear, and this season we really wanted to convey the message of how our hats are made. Here flower pressing tools and locally sourced leather are on display to help tell the story.

A selection of ivory designs.

Our smaller capsule collection 'Re envisioned' stay tuned for a write-up on this next week!

Located on the 53rd floor of Auckland’s Skytower the interiors of The Sugar Club look to the Art Deco and Modernist movements. The Italian set movie 'I am Love' is said to be a point of inspiration and this was evident as seen in the soft leather seating, marbled tabletops, feature chandeliers and a polished brass cocktail bar. These design features complemented each other perfectly, evoking the utmost glamour and was the perfect setting for our new collection.
