This summer we had the great pleasure of creating a bespoke bridal gown for the lovely Vicky. It was also quite the family affair as we created outfits for her sister-in-law and mother-in-law to be also! Many a Saturday morning were when the friendly trio would come in for their fittings and it was always a real joy, as we got to hear about the wedding planning and work away on all of the outfits progress.
Vicky's gown featured a tulle bodice over top of a silk dupion base that was then entirely hand appliqued with cotton lace guipure. The silk dupion skirt was cut on an asymmetric styleline and was finely pleated and fell into a long dramatic train.
The bridesmaids dresses were created by Vicky's clever mother in law Delice and we created matching blush pink hair rosettes to complement.
For Delice we created a softly structured dress with a silk tissue draped bodice and a silk dupion pencil skirt. For her head wear we designed and made a black leather pillbox hat adorned with a large silk flower. For Anita we worked with a beautiful shade of cornflower blue which we sourced again in a silk tissue and silk dupion, her fitted dress features a hand draped bodice and peplum. Anita's head wear was created around a grey button and featured silver glitter rosettes mixed with cornflower blue silk petals.
