Natalie Chan, one of the most renowned milliners in New Zealand has been in the millinery industry for over 10 years. In the early years she was first self-taught then went abroad and has trained with some of the top milliners in Australia such as Neil Gregg, Serena Lindeman and Louise MacDonald to name a few. Natalie’s work has been featured in fashion, lifestyle and bridal magazines of New Zealand, celebrities have worn her millinery designs, her designs has appeared in campaigns and numerous clients have won awards whilst wearing a Natalie Chan headpiece.
You will be taught by Natalie and one of her experienced atelier ladies, who will be on hand to assist you with your creations. Natalie has years of industry knowledge and extensive experience and she looks forward to sharing her knowledge and skills with you.
Create a set of 3 beautifully handmade silk (and lace) couture rosettes from start to near completion. You will choose your fabrics from a fabulous selection of fine silk dupion, chiffon, tulles and exclusive laces.
You will then be taught how to cut and hand make them in the workshop. We can stop for a small break of tea/coffee and sweet treats which will be provided for you, then carry on hand sewing and embellishing the silk couture rosettes with pearls and crystals.
You are most welcome to bring heirloom or vintage fabrics or trims from your personal collection, that you can add to rosettes.
Upon leaving you will leave the handmade couture silk rosettes with us and we will starch the rosettes in our workroom to finish them off, though you will not go home empty handed as you will take away with you a gorgeous gift bag. By the next week they will be available for pick up in your very own Natalie Chan millinery gift box.
